Weber Shandwick to Promote International AIDS Conference

The International AIDS Society (IAS) has appointed Weber Shandwick to manage a global media relations campaign for the XV International AIDS Conference.

HONG KONG—The International AIDS Society (IAS) has appointed Weber Shandwick to manage a global media relations campaign for the XV International AIDS Conference, which will be run by IAS and the Thai Ministry of Health and will take place in Bangkok this July.

“The vision of the XV International AIDS Conference is to link community and science to galvanize the world’s response to HIV/AIDS through increased commitment, leadership and accountability,” said Mats Ahnlund, conference director of the XV International AIDS Conference. “With its global campaign experience, understanding of HIV/AIDS issues and communications expertise, we are confident that Weber Shandwick will help deliver our messages to audiences throughout the world.”

Jill Mortensen, Weber Shandwick’s Asia Pacific healthcare director, is leading the project team based in Hong Kong. Weber Shandwick staff in Bangkok and offices throughout its global network are working closely to support the lead team. A local IAC media center and office will operatesfrom Weber Shandwick’s Bangkok office.
