KENILWORTH, N.J.—Schering-Plough Corporation has named Jeffrey Winton group vice president of global communications. Winton will have responsibility for corporate internal communications and corporate external communications worldwide. He also will establish a new, integrated product communications group that will provide non-advertising communications strategy and implementation support for all of the company’s products on a worldwide basis.
Winton will report to Joseph C. Connors, executive vice president and general counsel, Schering-Plough. He also will report on a dotted-line basis to Carrie Cox, executive vice president and president of the company’s global pharmaceuticals unit, on product-related communications.
Before joining Schering-Plough, Winton served as vice president of global public relations at Pharmacia Corporation. Winton led public relations efforts for all of Pharmacia’s global businesses and directed integrated new product launches in several diverse therapeutic categories. He also was responsible for advocacy development programs.
Prior to Pharmacia, Winton was with the U.S. operations of Hoffmann-LaRoche, Wyeth and several public relations and advertising agencies.
