Worden to Head PR at PPG Industries

Jeffrey Worden has been named manager of public relations at PPG Industries, where he will replace manager of corporate public information John Ruch, who is retiring at the end of July after 33 years with the manufacturing company.

PITTSBURGH—Jeffrey Worden has been named manager of public relations at PPG Industries, where he will replace manager of corporate public information John Ruch, who is retiring at the end of July after 33 years with the manufacturing company. Worden will be responsible for media relations and executive and internal communication.

Worden joined PPG in 1998 as senior business writer responsible for executive speechwriting and investor presentations. Previously he was senior speechwriter and manager of publications for six years at PNC Bank, and a journalist for 15 years.
Ruch joined PPG in 1968 as public relations representative for chemical businesses and later managed a PR staff serving all PPG businesses. He came to PPG from the public relations staff of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, and earlier was a reporter for United Press International at bureaus in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
