NEW YORK—The Worldcom Public Relations Group, a global network of independent public relations firms, has created a global rapid response team, which brings together senior public relations professionals from around the world to help clients manage during a crisis.

“If a company has a major crisis, or issue in a foreign country that threatens its reputation or its ability to operate, executives will need communications experts on the ground in a hurry,” says Worldcom chairman Jon Holt. “There’s no time to go to the phone book. One call to a Worldcom partner on the rapid response team and the executive suite can have seasoned communications professionals on the job immediately who know the country, the language and the culture to meet the company’s unique needs and to protect its reputation at home and abroad.”

Worldcom’s crisis communications and issues practice group has assisted clients dealing with fires, explosions, leaks, hostage takings, shootings, civil wars, product tampering, product recalls, product failures, natural disasters, criminal activity, special interest group attacks, false allegations, hostile takeovers and accidents involving injuries and death.
