NEW YORK—Zeno has followed up its first agency acquisition by naming Nancy Ruscheinski as its first global chief operating officer.

Ruscheinski joins Zeno after 28 years with sister firm Edelman, most recently as vice chair of client engagement. Her experience at Edelman features several senior roles, including president of Edelman Chicago, US COO, global chief innovation officer, head of media and creative services, and founder of Edelman’s digital business.

At Zeno, Ruscheinski will remain based in Chicago, reporting to CEO Barby Siegel. She is tasked with a client-centric role, focusing on growth and globalization across practices, functions, innovation and talent.

“With six years of stunning organic growth and the completion of our first acquisition, we needed another experienced leader (and doer) to join our leadership team," said Siegel in a statement. "Certainly, not just anyone could step into a role like this. I needed to find someone who could bring an outside perspective and challenge us in new ways, while understanding the essence of our brand and the journey we are on."

Zeno's acquisition of 3 Monkeys takes the firm to nearly 400 people and $60m in global revenue, with around one-third coming from outside the US.

"Nancy follows in a line of incredible leaders who have been part of the DJE family in Chicago," said DJE Holdings chairman Richard Edelman. "Nancy will be a driving force as Zeno continues on its path as the mid-size global challenger agency."
