Zilka Joins Edelman Corporate Practice

Jeff Zilka, who was formerly U.S. head of financial communications for Hill & Knowlton and most recently the managing principal responsible for the Chicago office of The Weiser Group, has joined Edelman’s corporate affairs practice.

CHICAGO—Jeff Zilka, who was formerly U.S. head of financial communications for Hill & Knowlton and most recently the managing principal responsible for the Chicago office of The Weiser Group, has joined Edelman’s corporate affairs practice in Chicago as executive vice president and director of financial communications, a new position.

Zilka, who had led the investor relations group at Weiser before the firm closed its Chicago office last month, will manage Edelman Chicago’s financial communications practice and expand its activities in key areas, including investor relations, corporate governance, strategic transactions and financial services marketing.

Also joining the Chicago corporate practice is William Keegan, who will be senior vice president, director of crisis/issues management.  Keegan most recently served as director of corporate communications for the Indiana-based energy services firm NiSource.

Zilka and Keegan both report to Mark Shadle, executive vice president and managing director of the 60-person Chicago corporate affairs unit and will work alongside Kevin Cook, who directs reputation management, and Randy Pitzer, who directs technology and business marketing.

Clients served by the Edelman Chicago corporate unit include Boeing, CNH, Equity Office, Expedia, Household, Kraft Foods and Marsh.
