Zimprich Named to Lead Brand PR at General Mills

Greg Zimprich has been named director of brand public relations at General Mills, reporting to chief marketing officer Mark Addicks. Zimprich has been with the company for 12 years, and most recently led all PR activities for the company’s Big G Cereals division.

GOLDEN VALLEY, MN—Greg Zimprich has been named director of brand public relations at General Mills, reporting to chief marketing officer Mark Addicks.  Zimprich has been with the company for 12 years, and most recently led all PR activities for the company’s Big G Cereals division, where he managed nationally recognized public relations programs for brands such as Wheaties, Cheerios and Total cereals.

His appointment comes a week after former director of brand public relations Kim Olson was named vice president and chief communications officer at Carlson Companies.

Prior to joining the company, Zimprich spent six years working at PR and advertising agencies, including Communication Concepts Unlimited, Miller Meester Advertising, and Mona Meyer McGrath & Gavin (now Weber Shandwick). He also has reported for the Milwaukee Journal, the Winona Daily News, and the Faribault Daily News. 

Zimprich will oversee all public relations activities for the $11.2 billion company’s 200-plus brands, including household names such as Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Yoplait, Cheerios, Wheaties, Nature Valley, Green Giant and Old El Paso.
