CHICAGO—Burson-Marsteller has promoted Bill Zucker to Midwest market leader, based in Chicago. Zucker will continue in his role as managing director in the media practice where he has led many efforts to counsel clients on media relations and issues management. Zucker replaces Robert Kornecki who retired after three years in the post and 35 years in public relations.
Zucker is the client leader for Burson’s work with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and counseled NCBA on its handling of the first U.S. case of BSE (mad cow disease). During his 15-year career as a journalist, Zucker worked as a producer, reporter and newsroom manager in both television and radio. Before joining Burson-Marsteller, Zucker was an executive producer at WBBM-TV, the CBS affiliate in Chicago, where he launched the station’s first morning news broadcast.
