Zynga has hired Allison & Partners for product PR, the Holmes Report has learned. The social games developer formerly worked with the OutCast Agency.

The publicly-traded Zynga — best known for the Facebook game FarmVille — is undergoing a transformation into a mobile gaming company since its new CEO  Don Mattrick took over last summer with a view towards going “back to basics” with a longer outlook on its products and businesses. The company is gearing up for earnings next week, as well as the recent news of its new CFO/CAO David Lee.

It’s understood the gaming company handles its corporate news in-house. It’s likely that Allison & Partners will be more involved in news like the mobile revamp the company undertook in March when it rolled out updated iOS and Android versions of “FarmVille 2: Country Escape,” “Zynga Poker,” and “Words With Friends.”

Spokespeople for Zynga and Allison & Partners declined comment.
