NEW YORK--Lisa Rosenberg has quit Porter-Novelli after 20 years for a new role as president of Euro RSCG PR North America.

Rosenberg departs Porter-Novelli after rising to become one of its key senior leaders - holding the roles of senior partner, director of the global brand marketing practice and New York managing director, while also sitting on the firm’s global executive committee.

The appointment means that current Euro RSCG North America president Marian Salzman is to be promoted to CEO, with an additional brief to oversee healthcare agency Euro RSCG Life’s global rollout.

Salzman confirmed the development when reached at home on Sunday night. Rosenberg’s shift to Euro RSCG PR represents a reunion of sorts with Salzman, who departed Porter-Novelli in 2009.

One of North America’s leading consumer PR practitioners, Rosenberg has led marketing programs for the likes of Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo, Reckitt Benckiser, Harman International and Johnson & Johnson. She was appointed as MD of Porter-Novelli’s flagship New York office in 2008.

"When I think about where Euro is at this point - they are in growth mode and at a very different stage to where Porter Novelli is," said Rosenberg. “Euro is coming from a position where they are tiny and growing and they are very entrepreneurial - when I joined Porter it had that entrepreneurial spirit and edge."

"I feel like Euro is at a place where Porter was 20 years ago," added Rosenberg. "Over the years as Porter has grown, they have all the trappings of a really big global agency and all the pressures that come along with it. In some ways, when you are smaller you have the opportunity to be more nimble, and that’s what I see at Euro.”

Her arrival at Euro RSCG PR, later this month, comes after a year of significant top- and bottom-line growth at the North American operations of the Havas-owned firm.

Porter Novelli global president Julie Winskie said that Rosenberg's departure was "very amicable".

"In Q4 2010, we agreed to shift Lisa out of the NY MD role and that was public to all PN staff," said Winskie. "She had not yet fully moved into a new marketing role. We will name a NY MD this quarter as planned and will fill agency marketing needs with internal resources for now."
