FRANKFURT--Grayling has won a new pan-European PR assignment from DHL, following a keenly-contested pitch in Germany.

The world’s largest logistics company has selected Grayling to focus on DHL’s corporate brand positioning in the media. It is understood that numerous agencies responded to DHL’s initial pitch request, before Grayling eventually prevailed.

DHL’s global media relations team lead Claus Korfmacher said that Grayling’s assignment would have no impact on the company’s existing strategic and financial communications account with Hering Schuppener.

“We will use Grayling mainly for positioning of the DHL brand, and this will focus on corporate initiatives and the European region,” Korfmacher told the Holmes Report.

Korfmacher said that activities would focus on “selected countries”, but declined to provide further details.

The account will be led by DHL’s Frankfurt hub, in combination with Grayling’s London office.

Earlier this year, Grayling Singapore hired Christina Koh from DHL Express, where she was global head of the company’s internal and external communications, at its Bonn HQ.

At Deutsche Post, DHL is used as an umbrella brand for all of the company’s logistics and parcel services, including its DHL Express courier division.
