BRUSSELS—Swedish corporate and financial communications specialist Hallvarsson & Halvarsson and Brussels-based public affairs firm Interel are forming a strategic partnership to provide clients with integrated public affairs expertise at a pan-European level.

According to Fredrik Lofthagen, CEO of Interel, and Martin Petersson, CEO of H&H, “The EU is the world’s largest economic zone and for the foreseeable future, the most important market for Nordic companies. Knowing, understanding and influencing the European Affairs agenda in Brussels is an important challenge for business leaders facing ever growing regulatory complexity and competition.”

H&H and Interel will support clients with combined teams of local as well pan-European expertise in political, regulatory and business affairs with a sharp focus on measurable results.

The partnership will be spearheaded by H&H European affairs expert Håkan Jonsson, whose background includes serving as State Secretary for European Affairs in the Prime Minister’s Office of Sweden. The Interel effort will be led by the chairman of its European Affairs practice, Catherine Stewart.
