EMERYVILLE, August 9—LeapFrog Enterprises, a leading producer of interactive educational products, has selected Manning, Selvage and Lee as its public relations agency of record following a review that included Fleishman-Hillard and Porter Novelli. The account, believed to be worth in excess of $500,000, was previously handled by New York boutique Southard Communications, which had won several industry awards for its work on behalf of Leapfrog.

MS&L’s San Francisco office led the pitch, with support from the consumer practice in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.

“MS&L stood out from the competition because of its creativity and broad experience in developing strategic communications for major consumer brands, coupled with its strong industry knowledge in the education and interactive markets,” according to Tom Prichard, vice president of marketing for LeapFrog.

MS&L will develop a comprehensive strategic communications campaign, including product and corporate programs supporting the LeapFrog brand. The company will be launching several new products as well as introducing new book titles for the LeapPad, its marquee product and the number one selling toy last holiday season according to toy tracking services.
