WEYBRIDGE—Former BBC communications director Sally Osman is joining Sony Europe to lead all corporate and product PR and social media communications.
In addition to leading the Sony Europe communications team based in Weybridge, Osman will oversee all PR functions of Sony electronics operating units in Europe. She will also coordinate group-wide, pan-European PR issues, working closely with the company’s other business units, including Sony Pictures, Sony Music and Sony Computer Entertainment.
As BBC Director of Communications until 2007 she worked with successive directors general Greg Dyke and Mark Thompson on strategic and content issues and crises.
She will report to Fujio Nishida, president of Sony Europe, and to Shiro Kambe, Sony Corporation’s senior VP, corporate communications and CSR in Tokyo.
