PARSIPPANY, NJ—Coyne Public Relations has been named public relations agency of record for Burger King Corp. in the US, following a competitive pitch. Coyne PR has been tasked with supporting the development of a new integrated communications program that will effectively support the Burger King brand’s marketing initiatives and helping to build consumer awareness of products and promotions at restaurants nationwide.

Additionally, the agency will provide corporate and executive communications support, as well as nutrition and issues management counsel.

According to Miguel Piedra, vice president, global communications at BKC, “We believe that Coyne’s deep understanding of our business needs, along with their strategic insights and creativity are the right recipe for the Burger King brand moving forward.”

The agency is already working with BKC to develop plans in support of key initiatives through the fourth quarter of 2011 and 2012.

Coyne replaces Edelman, which parted company with the restaurant chain earlier this year.
