GM Hands Indian PR Duties To Integral

NEW DELHI--General Motors has hired local firm Integral as its AOR in India, after parting ways with previous incumbent Edelman.  

The American automotive giant called the pitch after Edelman was dramatically hired to handle Tata Group's domestic PR business, including local market leader Tata Motors.

In a review revealed last month by the Holmes Report, GM reportedly viewed presentations from a number of firms, before selecting Integral.

"We are extremely happy to be associated with General Motors and looking forward to its continued growth in the Indian market," said Integral MD Sharif Rangnekar. "They have impressive products on the roads and being part of their story is something that thrills us."

In addition, the Holmes Report understands that Integral has been hired by Apple to handle a specific public affairs mandate focused on the tech giant's business operations. Integral secured the brief following a three-way review. Good Relations' status as Apple's Indian AOR is unaffected. 

GM entered India in 1996, and launched its flagship Chevrolet brand into the country in 2003.
