PHILADELPHIA—Shire, the global specialty biopharmaceutical company, has named Gwen Fisher (pictured) senior corporate communications director for specialty pharma, responsible for external and internal communications.
Fisher joins from Pfizer, where she was senior director, global media relations and communications lead for the worldwide business development and innovation division. She joined Pfizer in 2009 following the company’s acquisition of Wyeth, where she led brand PR and issues management for the pharma business unit, and previously worked at Merck.
She succeeds Matt Cabrey, who is transitioning to a new role as global corporate reputation and community partnerships lead, in which he will be responsible for developing and executing a global strategy to coordinate and maximize Shire’s philanthropic, community and industry-relations activities.
Cabrey has been with Shire’s corporate communications team for eight years.
