Holmes Report 21 Feb 2012

LONDON—Integrated communications agency Four Communications Group has acquired Colman Getty, a £3 million consultancy best known for its cultural and campaigning work.

Four has acquired 60 percent of the equity in the firm, while shareholders including Dotti Irving, chief executive, and Liz Sich, managing director, will retain 40 percent. Colman Getty will be renamed Four Colman Getty and will work alongside Four’s public relations, public affairs, digital services, sponsorship, media and marketing practices.

Four Colman Getty works with clients including The Man Booker Prize for Fiction, Library of Birmingham, RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Foyles, Jeffrey Archer, JK Rowling’s charity Lumos, Oxfam and the Duchess of Cambridge’s charity Action on Addiction.

According to Irving, “As Four Colman Getty, we will be able to offer both staff and clients a much broader, deeper service. As part of an integrated, but still independent group, we can now offer critical new services like public affairs, design and media buying, all under one roof."

Irving will continue to serve as chief executive and will join the operating board of Four Communications Group. Stich will serve as managing director.

The combined firm will have 150 employees and fee income in excess of £12 million.
