LONDON--Mastercard has brought in Frank PR to handle PR for its UEFA Champions League sponsorship following a competitive review.

The Holmes Report understands that Frank has already begun working on the six-figure European brief, which was previously handled by Weber Shandwick.

The firm has been tasked with supporting the payments company’s Champions League marketing activity, until the end of this year’s competition. MasterCard recently renewed its official partnership deal with the tournament for the next three years.

The brand's Champions League support includes numerous promotions across Europe, along with dedicated social media content and engagement.

The assignment is one of a few consumer projects that MasterCard has recently pitched in the UK. One of these, to support its ‘Priceless’ brand positioning, was won by UK firm Kaper. Mastercard’s corporate AOR remains Weber Shandwick.

Earlier this year, the company named former Disney executive Rose Beaumont as SVP and group head of comms for Europe.

Frank PR representatives declined to comment, while Mastercard did not respond to request for comment.
