LEAMINGTON SPA, UK--Jaguar has extended its relationship with We Are Social to a two-year contract covering its global social media programme.

The development follows a six-month social media assignment handled by We Are Social for the luxury carmaker's marketing team. The relationship has already yielded a Facebook page attracting more than one million Jaguar fans.

We Are Social will be responsible for developing and implementing Jaguar’s global social media strategy. The fast-growing social media firm will continue day-to-day oversight of Jaguar's community engagement programs on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

We Are Social will work alongside Spark44, Jaguar’s creative agency, to support brand activity, product launches, events, and the integration of social media across Jaguar’s overall digital presence. The agency will also continue a social media effort to support the launch of the Jaguar XF Sportbrake luxury estate marque.

The new business follows a period of considerable expansion at UK-based We Are Social, which now counts 180 staffers across eight international offices. Key clients include Heinz, Smirnoff, Adidas, HP and Unilever,

“We Are Social has the global presence we were looking for in a social media agency, and this, combined with their creativity and strategic approach, means they are well placed to answer the needs of our brand," said Jaguar global digital manager Steven Cobelli in a statement. "Since we first started working with We Are Social six months ago we’ve seen some truly impressive results, so we had no hesitation in bringing them on as our retained agency.”
