HONG KONG--The organization charged with turning Hong Kong into a technological hub has called in Ogilvy PR to help improve awareness of its offering.

Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC) selected the firm after previously working with Strategic PR Group.

Ogilvy PR will aim to highlight HKSTPC's role in building a diverse economy and fostering technological innovation in Hong Kong.

The firm will also support HKSTPC on a number of key milestones, including the launch of Hong Kong Science Park Phase 3, a showcase for sustainable practice, construction and development.

The three-year partnership commences in mid-July, taking the form of an integrated communications campaign.

“Hong Kong needs to further enhance its position in the technology space and stands a good chance of becoming a leader in certain technology sectors by supporting and developing technologies such as green tech," said Ogilvy PR Hong Kong MD Clara Shek.

"Increasingly, governments are setting green roadmaps, creating an opportunity for businesses to claim their stake. Why not make Hong Kong the hub for this?"

Launched in 2001, HKSTPC comprises the Hong Kong Science Park, InnoCentre, and three Industrial Estates in the SAR.

Added HKSTPC CEO E Anthony Tan: "At this moment when we are embarking on a new era with Phase 3 of Hong Kong Science Park being developed, the local community and businesses, as well as the wider science and technology industry will surely be seeing a lot more of us in the next few years as we aim to take innovation and technology growth in Hong Kong to the next level.”
