MIAMI—High-profile media stars Janet Balis of Huffington Post, Lewis DVorkin of Forbes, Cheryl Casone of Fox Business Network, and Daniel Jeffreys of Quintessentially Asia will be among experts from the world of journalism featured at the first Global Public Relations Summit, which will take place in Miami from October 29-31.

Balis (pictured) was named the first publisher at Huffington Post Media Group earlier this year, having previously served as senior VP for sales strategy, marketing and partnerships for AOL Advertising. In her new role, she is focused on new strategies for The Huffington Post's work with marketers.

Lewis DVorken is chief product officer at Forbes Media, where he describes his current project as “the future of Forbes.” He has previously worked with The New York Times, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, AOL and TMZ. More recently, he was the founder and CEO of True/Slant, which Forbes invested in and acquired two years ago.

Both Balis and DVorken will be part of a panel led by global public relations agency Weber Shandwick focusing on the implications of the communications revolution for traditional and digital media and for the public relations profession.

Casone joined Fox Business Network in September 2007 as an anchor. She is also host of "Cashin' In," a weekend half-hour personal finance program on Fox News. She has reported on the economic impact of war, consumer fraud, global markets, foreign investment, and corporate governance. Before joining FNC, she worked as a freelance business correspondent for CNN, primarily reporting from the New York Stock Exchange, and for CBS Newspath as a general assignment reporter.

Jeffreys is founder of deluxewords, which publishes magazines including Quintessentially Asia—where he serves as editor in chief—for luxury goods brands. Earlier, he worked as managing editor for Hong kong Tatler and Macau Tatler, and magazines editor for the South China Morning Post.

Casone and Jeffreys will be part of a panel discussion, led by PR firm Cohn & Wolfe, on “Marketing as a Spectator Sport.”
