LONDON—Princess Cruises has called in Ogilvy PR/London to promote the launch of Royal Princess, the first of two new-generation ships, set to arrive in the UK this summer. Ogilvy PR has been tasked with building the launch program for the Royal Princess, handling special projects, creating awareness and anticipation before its arrival in the UK and supporting the press office, in the run up to the ship’s maiden voyage.

LONDON—Cohn & Wolfe has appointed Andrew Escott (pictured) as managing director of its corporate affairs practice in the UK. Escott, who joined Cohn & Wolfe as a director in 2009, will assume responsibility for leading the agency’s 25-strong corporate and public affairs business after spearheading the launch of Cohn & Wolfe’s public affairs offer, Political Counsel. In his new role, he will report into Scott Wilson, Cohn & Wolfe UK CEO and managing director, EMEA.

PARIS—Waggener Edstrom has been appointed by Taxibeat, the company behind a smartphone application that creates a direct marketplace between taxi drivers and passengers. Waggener Edstrom will be responsible for delivering an integrated communications program, driving brand awareness of Taxibeat in the French market.

LONDON—Fleishman-Hillard International Communications has appointed Patricia Hamzahee to lead its financial services team in London. She also joins the agency’s London management team. Hamzahee brings more than 20 years’ experience of international financial markets, as well as expertise in international positioning, crisis management, corporate and senior management communications, and investor relations. She joins from Kreab Gavin Anderson, where she was a partner and co-head of the financial services practice.

LONDON—Blue Rubicon has hired BBC News journalist Jane Hadden to bolster its specialist media training team. Hadden spent 12 years as a BBC reporter including spells on BBC Breakfast and 5 Live and most recently as a senior producer on the 6 and 10 o'clock News, before moving to Edelman last year.

PARIS—APCO Worldwide is partnering with Santé en Entreprise on a pro bono basis to support the organisation's programs to combat HIV, malaria and chronic diseases among employees and local communities in France, Africa and the Caribbean. According to  Erick Maville, managing director of SEE,  "APCO's track record successfully working on health care issues and public-private partnerships means they will provide us with the expertise that we need to add weight to our activities."

LONDON—The Global Poverty Project has appointed Bell Pottinger Consumer to promote its Live Below the Line campaign in the UK. Bell Pottinger has been briefed to target consumer lifestyle, food and third sector media with the aim of inspiring people to take part in the challenge, raise money for participating charities, and build awareness of and engagement with extreme poverty issues. The firm aims to recruit an army of chefs to submit recipes for the project.

BRIGHTON—Arundel Castle has appointed Midnight Communications to handle its 2013 media relations campaign. Midnight has been appointed to support Arundel Castle in delivering its media relations campaign, including a comprehensive PR strategy aimed at raising awareness of the castle and gardens on a national and international level with an audience of all ages.

LONDON—Elly Woolston is joining the UK office of Fenton, the social change communications firm, as director. Woolston joins Fenton after serving as chairman and prior to that managing director at DMS, a charitable marketing agency, which she joined in 2008. Previously, she was a founding partner of Proximity London (formerly BHWG), which she helped build from 5 people to a 300 person agency in less than 10 years.
