LONDON—Ketchum has named Abby Guthkelch as head of digital and social media in the UK. Guthkelch will drive digital and social expertise throughout the agency and also focus on advising clients served by the agency in the UK. She joins Ketchum from the Royal Mail Group, where as head of digital communications and communication planning, she was responsible for modernizing and building a 58-person communications team and oversaw the group’s digital communication channels and campaigns.

BERLIN—IPREX, the global communication network, has named Michael Schröder, managing director of Berlin-based ORCA Affairs, as its EMEA president. Previously CEO and Chairman of Hill & Knowlton Germany, CEO of ABC EURO RSCG, and managing director Ketchum Berlin and wbpr Berlin, Schröder has been owner of Berlin-based ORCA Affairs since 2012. He has experience in the areas of political and corporate communication.

BRUSSELS—Bryan Dumont, president of APCO Insight, the global opinion research group at APCO Worldwide, is relcoating to lead the practice from APCO's Brussels office. Since joining APCO in 1999, Dumont has been instrumental in developing APCO Insight into a full-service opinion research consultancy. Previously, Dumont worked in the management consulting practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

LONDON—OC&C Strategy Consultants has called in Blue Rubicon to raise its profile and reinforce its position as a leader in global strategy consultancy. The firm will work across a wide range of sectors including media, retail, FMCG, leisure and services and promote OC&C’s work with CEOs and management teams. The Blue Rubicon team will be led by Blue Rubicon chief executive Gordon Tempest-Hay.

BRUSSELS—Ogilvy Public Relations Brussels has promoted Barbara Malengreaux to associate director and head of the consumer and health practice. Her health experience includes communications support on product launches, health promotion and disease awareness campaigns, as well as health issues and reputation management. Her consumer marketing experience stretches across a broad client portfolio, including retail, food, tourism and fashion.

LONDON—Blue Rubicon’s consumer PR subsidiary, Surname & Surname, has been appointed by Irish food brand Keogh's to help introduce its range of hand-cooked crisps to the UK market. Keogh's appointed Surname & Surname because "the agency expressed a deep understanding of the brand," according to founder Tom Keogh.

DUSSELDORF—German public relations firm A & B One has named Philipp Ammerer as head of advertising. He has experience with JWT and Foote Cone & Belding and has worked as a freelance with agencies in Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg and Dubai. At A & B One, he worked on the 2012 advertising campaign "Read & write - my key to the world" for the Federal Ministry for Education & Research.

LONDON—Bell Pottinger Private has appointed Gurpreet Singh Brar as a director in its public affairs practice. He joins Bell Pottinger from the chairman’s office at the Financial Services Authority where worked as an advisor to both the outgoing chairman, Lord Turner, and the incoming chairman of the Financial Conduct Authority, John Griffith-Jones. Prior to joining the FSA, he was parliamentary advisor to Adrian Bailey, the chair of the Business, Innovation & Skills Select Committee.

LONDON—The University of Law has appointed Broadgate Mainland on a project basis to support its communications program.  Broadgate Mainland will work with the marketing team at The University of Law to build its domestic and international profile as it completes its rebrand from college to university status.

SHEFFIELD—Roaring Mouse, a communications consultancy for innovative businesses, has been hired to provide content marketing and social media support for the launch of PurpleBeach, a new venture dedicated to driving diversity of thinking and people innovation. PurpleBeach has tasked Roaring Mouse with encouraging business leaders to attend its first London innovation forum in late April.
