SÃO PAULO—MSLGroup has named Paulo Andreoli chairman of its Latin America operations, responsible for overseeing agency development across Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

Andreoli will retain his current role as president and CEO of Andreoli MSL, one of Brazil’s leading strategic communications agencies, with more than 70 staff across offices in São Paulo and Rio. Andreoli MSL first joined the MSL network in 2002 with a minority investment by Publicis Groupe, which in 2010 became a majority position and started a wave of expansion and development at the agency.

“Latin America holds many of the world’s fastest growing and modernizing economies,” says Andreoli. “While this creates great opportunities, the many risks associated with government regulation, state-backed companies, diverse cultures and language barriers create the need for strategic communications to be a critical business function for boards, CEOs and marketers today.”

Andreoli has spent the last 20 years counselling both Brazilian and multinational brands on how to manage their reputation and business in Brazil and Latin America, including expensive work leading high-profile M&A, crisis and issues management and public affairs campaigns.

Prior to founding Andreoli MSL in 1993, he served as Latin America president for an international trading company where he worked across Latin America markets and Africa. Andreoli also served as a journalist and communications and public affairs director during separate periods at O. Estadão São Paulo, one of the Brazil’s oldest and most respected publications.
