WASHINGTON, DC—Linda McMahon, former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, is joining APCO Worldwide as a member of the firm's international advisory council.

McMahon helped to grow WWE from a 13-person operation to a publicly traded company with global operations delivering its entertainment to 650 million homes worldwide. In 2007, she was named one of Multichannel News' "Wonder Women," which recognized her accomplishments as a leader in the US cable industry.

McMahon has also been instrumental in nurturing a wide variety of community and charitable programs. She spearheaded the creation of Get REAL educational and literacy programs, including the company's nationwide Reading Challenge in partnership with the youth division of the American Library Association. In 2004, the Make-A-Wish Foundation awarded WWE its highest honor and in 2005, McMahon was appointed to the organization's National Advisory Council.
