LONDON—Bite has added PR duties for Sage Pay as the UK software company looks to online payments for growth.

The development comes after Bite was named global PR agency of record by Sage earlier this year. The agency secures the Sage Pay brief following a competitive review.

Sage Pay is the software player's bid to capitalise on the growth of online payments solutions. Formerly known as Protx, Sage Pay has grown rapidly in recent years and now competes with rivals such as PayPal and Worldpay.

Bite is charged with developing a range of creative campaigns for Sage Pay and manning the company's press office. The account will be led by agency director Jon Silk.

“Sage Pay has such a great culture – they have really loyal customers thanks to a long history of technology leadership and financial expertise, but the people there aren’t afraid to try new things," said Silk. "There is a buzz in their office that makes it feel like a startup – we can’t wait to tell their story.”

Sage Pay saw year-on-year revenue growth of 32 percent in Europe in the six months to March.
