LONDON—Weber Shandwick digital head James Warren is departing after more than seven years with the Interpublic Group agency.

Warren, who is currently chief creative officer of digital at the agency, will exit tomorrow. He is understood to be considering a number of potential digital roles, after spending 15 years working in interactive marketing and communications.

Warren's departure comes after the firm shifted Gabriela Lungu to chief creative officer of EMEA last week. However, he told the Holmes Report that his decision to leave was not linked to Lungu's new role.

Warren's departure sees Fiona Battle, who joined Weber Shandwick recently as senior digital and content creation strategist, take charge of the firm's EMEA digital practice. Warren hired Battle earlier this year, along with UK head of digital Pete Way.

"James was an early evangelist for digital in our business," said Weber Shandwick EMEA CEO Colin Byrne. "Now, with our digital business firmly established, a growing senior team, award winning campaigns and expanding client base, James has decided to explore new career opportunities. We wish him well and thank him for his contribution over nearly a decade."

Prior to joining Weber Shandwick in 2006, Warren spent 11 years at Bite Communications, rising to the role of creative director.
