NEW YORK—MSL Group has named Stephanie Smith as its first chief editorial officer for North America. She was previously North American director of editorial services. In her new role, she will serve as the agency’s “master storyteller,” serving as steward for the narrative arc and content strategy for clients.

NEW YORK—GolinHarris has appointed Mary Cunney (pictured) as media director in the agency’s New York office. Cunney joins the corporate practice, supporting a portfolio of financial services, technology and global business brands focusing on executive visibility, thought leadership and corporate positioning. Before joining Golin, Cunney worked at MSL Group as a senior media supervisor, working with clients such as United Technologies, Invest in France, Rolls Royce, Eli Lilly and Shriners Hospitals for Children. Prior to MSL, she was part of Edelman’s media team.

NEW YORK—Corey Scott has been appointed as senior VP, head of design, at Allison+Partners, responsible for conceptualizing and producing custom design solutions for the agency’s new business initiatives, its clients and the Allison+Partners brand. He joins from Edelman, where he served as regional art director and design lead for six offices across the western region. Prior to that, he was a lecturer in media and cultural studies at the University of Otago in New Zealand.

ST PAUL—April Nelson has been promoted to group director at Beehive PR, overseeing a portfolio that includes financial services, education, retail and healthcare accounts. She will continue to help set strategic direction for her clients and manage project teams. Nelson joined Beehive in 2010 from the financial services group at Weber Shandwick, as an account director and since then has worked with clients including 6pm.com, Rasmussen College, Coloplast Corp. and Deluxe Corporation.
