NEW YORK —Edelman has named Gail Becker president of strategic partnerships and global integration, while Alan VanderMolen takes charge of Canada and Latin America.

The latest senior reshuffle at the firm comes after VanderMolen was named vice-chair of DJE in early 2012. Since then, the firm has dispensed with its holding group strategy, with CEO Richard Edelman instead favouring partnerships of the kind it inked with Indian ad agency Rediffusion to win the Tata PR contract.

Becker, who previously chaired Edelman Latin America and Canada, is charged with leading the new partnership strategy and overseeing sports and entertainment firm Matter.

VanderMolen — who led Edelman's Asia-Pacific presence for several years — will continue to oversee Edelman's eight global practices, along with sister firm Zeno and key intellectual property assets such as the Trust Barometer.

“Clients are now looking to us to bring the big idea to the table and there are times we need outside help to execute them,” said Edelman. “Establishing new partnerships with local agencies in the advertising, experiential and production fields in key markets is one of the pillars of our strategy."

Becker, who joined Edelman in 1999, will remain based in Los Angeles.
