BEIJING—Ogilvy Public Relations and its various subsidiaries and operating companies have been recognized with a record 38 nominees in the Diamond and Gold categories of the 2014 Asia-Pacific SABRE Awards.

The finalists were selected from a record of close to 1,400 entries from across the region, impressive in both quantity and quality. “The entries were robust and competitive,” says Christopher Samuel, director of corporate engagement for Monsanto Asia-Pacific and one of the industry leaders who served on this year’s jury. “The combination of research-led insight, strategy, creativity, credible credentialing, excellence in execution, and impact on the business - is what has elevated the best campaigns this year.”

Several other agencies managed double-digit finalists, including Edelman (23); FleishmanHillard (20, including its BlueCurrent subsidiary); Hill+Knowlton Strategies (14), Weber Shandwick (13); and Blue Focus (11, including Blue Digital and Phluency Interactive). Others with multiple nominations included Text 100 (nine); Adfactors PR of India (eight); Burson-Marsteller and Hong-Kong based Strategic Public Relations Group (seven each); Cohn & Wolfe (six); Fortune PR of Indonesia and Ruder Finn (five each); and Singapore’s AKA Asia and In.fom, and DeVries PR (four each).

The honorees in the Asia-Pacific In2 SABRE Awards, which recognize excellence in content creation and data and analytics, will be announced later this week. The winners in the Diamond and Gold categories will be announced at our annual SABRE Awards dinner, which will be held at the St Regis Hotel in Beijing on September 18.
