LONDON—Four Communications has announced an offer to acquire 100% of long-running UK consumer PR firm Consolidated PR.

The offer is being recommended by the board of Consolidated PR and more than 90% of shareholders have agreed. The deal is expected to complete successfully in early October.

Formed in 1990, Consolidated is one of the oldest independent consumer PR firms in the UK, with offices in London and Edinburgh.

The addition of Consolidated PR would take Four Communications Group fee income to £15.5m. Consolidated MD Nick Clark would join the Four Communications Group operating board, while directors Will Holt, Elspeth Rothwell, Liz Fay and Anne Clarke would become practice directors. Elspeth Rothwell is also promoted to deputy MD of Consolidated PR.

Four has demonstrated considerable growth in recent years across its operations in the UK and the Middle East. The company has acquired three firms — bgb, Colman Getty and Kinross+Render — over the past couple of years, growing to 165 staff.

"Consolidated PR is an excellent fit alongside our other communications teams and does exceptional work for an amazing list of clients,” said Four CEO Nan Williams in a statement

Upon completion Consolidated PR will "initially" retain its brand, according to the statement. The firm's London staff will move to Four’s offices.
