Text 100 UK MD Kirsty Leighton has resigned her role and is departing the industry, just four months after joining the agency.

Leighton, who has decided to spend more time with her family, is succeeded by Text 100 deputy MD Dan Baxter. Leighton joined Text 100 from Waggener Edstrom in April of this year after the Next Fifteen agency conducted an extensive search to replace previous UK chief Nick Giles. Her last day at the agency is 20 August.

“After a wonderful holiday with my family I realised that after 18 years in the industry, it was time to focus on them,” said Leighton. “I am looking forward to being a full time mum tinged with a little trepidation, it is a big change for me.”

Baxter, who joined Text 100 in 2006 from Intel, become MD with immediate effect. “We completely respect Kirsty’s decision and wish her and her family all the best,” said Text 100 Northern Europe regional director Sarah McKenzie. “We’re in great hands with Dan at the helm.”
