FOSTER CITY, CA—Andrea (Andy) Cunningham, founder of one of Silicon Valley’s most successful technology public relations firms, has joined Rearden Commerce, a pre-IPO Internet services company, as chief marketing officer, working alongside CEO Patrick Grady.

According to Cunningham, “I am very excited about this opportunity and the potential to help the company tell its story and fulfill its incredible mission.”

Cunningham will be leaving her Palo-Alto-based brand strategy and communication consulting boutique, CXO Communication, which will continue to operate under the leadership of partner Kathleen Bowden. Prior to CXO, Cunningham was founder and CEO of Cunningham Communication, a public relations agency she founded in 1985 and sold to Huntsworth in 2000. The firm currently operates as Citigate Cunningham.

Cunningham also sits boards of the The Aspen Institute, The Computer History Museum, and ZERO1: the Art and Technology Network, a contemporary arts organization she founded in 2000 that acts as a catalyst and platform for the development and presentation of innovative art.
