Launched in 2001 by former Hasbro public relations executive Laura Tomasetti (as Laura Tomasetti & Associates), 360 Public Relations has grown to more than $2 million in annual billings in less than five years due in large part to its focus on an audience its founder knows well: parents. For most of her 20 years in the public relations business, Tomasetti has focused on promoting products, brands and companies to parents, and moms in particular, and she has maintained that focus since striking out on her own, offering a 360-degree perspective—public relations set in the context of marketing and sales—to connect clients to their audience with intimacy and authenticity.
Most of the firm’s business comes from the consumer sector, with headliners including Rival, which markets the Crock-Pot and Seal-a-Meal brands , and LEGO Systems. But it has expanded into the technology space with video game maker Turbine and Green Fuel Technologies (which secured coverage in national media such as CNN, BusinessWeek and Salon), and has also managed a program targeting pet owners on behalf of IDEXX Laboratories, a biotech company that is emerging as a leader in the animal health field. As a result of these wins, the firm doubled in size in 2005 and is well positioned for further growth in 06.
