CHICAGO—MWW Group has added ALDI—a discount grocer with close to 900 stores in the U.S.— to its client roster. MWW Group will lead a multi-faceted public relations campaign for ALDI’s U.S. operation to increase recognition among consumers as ALDI expands into new markets across the U.S. and increases its presence in existing locations from Kansas to the East Coast.  The account will be managed from MWW Group’s office located in Chicago.

DALLAS—Heelys, the youth sports lifestyle company, has named Edelman as its public relations agency of record. Edelman’s Dallas office will be responsible for extending Heelys brand recognition in the youth wheeled-footwear, footwear, apparel, and accessories markets, and will position Heelys as the leading authority on kids’ healthy, active lifestyles.

LOS ANGELES—JS2 Communications, has added three restaurant accounts: Paperfish restaurant in Beverly Hills, headed by legendary chef and restaurateur Joachim Splichal; the original Beverly Hills location of Lawry’s The Prime Rib; and Literati 2 restaurant in Brentwood, California, serving California-Mediterranean cuisine from chef Chris Kidder.

NEW YORK—Affect Strategies, a strategic marketing, communications and public relations firm specializing in the high tech industry, has been selected by Valera Global, a provider of executive transportation solutions in major U.S. and European cities, to implement a high-impact public relations program. Affect will assist Valera in developing its brand recognition, penetrating new market areas, promoting the company’s service offerings and creating awareness for event and road show travel solutions. 

BALTIMORE—Marketing communications firm MGH has been selected by the Common Ground Alliance to promote 811, the national “Call Before You Dig” number, and its complementary website, CGA launched the federally mandated phone number 811 in May to help protect individuals from unintentionally hitting underground utility lines while digging.

PORTLAND, OR—Creative Brand Communications, a full-service brand development and communications agency specializing in financial institutions, has been named public relations agency of record for the Oregon Bankers Association.

TROY, MI—John Bailey & Associates has acquired two new clients: Saleen and T-Systems. The clients are industry leaders in the automotive specialty vehicle and information technology sectors respectively.
