Media relations and business-to-business PR
Founded in 1992, Bianchi Public Relations offers a broad range of services, but its primary focus is providing media relations support to companies that are part of the North American automotive supply chain. Founder the president Jim Bianchi, worked at Eisbrenner & Co. before striking out on his own, has 25 years of experience spanning the agency and corporate sides of the business. His experience in the sector gives the firm a credibility with relevant media that few can match, and while publicity is at the heart of most of Bianchi’s assignments, it has expanded its portfolio of services to include writing, strategic planning, event and show support, media training and research.
With a staff of a dozen and fee income of around $1 million, Bianchi ranks among the top 10 PR firms in Detroit. Growth last year was muted—in the low single digits—as the firm’s performance reflected the difficulties experienced by the Detroit automotive sector as it lagged the national recovery. New business included the Motor Vehicle Lighting Council, FlexForm Technologies, It’s Just Lunch of Southeast Michigan, PIME Missionaries and Freudenberg Nonwovens MicronAir brand filters, as well as projects for Alliance-March, Virtual Services, and a national banking company. Assignments included helping PPG’s automotive coatings business win coverage in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and other major media and assistaing Johnson Controls and TRW Automotive generate widespread media coverage—trade and consumer—for key technologies.
Bianchi also became the Michigan affiliate for The PR Collective, one of the newest and fastest-growing public relations networks, which brings together 40 independent agencies across the United States to serve the special needs of national and international clients, and was named one of Metro Detroit’s 101 Best & Brightest Companies To Work For by the Michigan Business & Professional Association for the second consecutive year.
