Many public relations firms talk about quality, but they do so in the abstract. When Caponigro Public Relations talks about quality, it’s in terms that are more concrete, and measurable. That’s because in 2003 Caponigro became the only public relations firm in North America to receive ISO 9001:2000 certification, a highly complex and comprehensive standard that measures quality, client satisfaction and continuous improvement. The ISO certification underscores the firm’s commitment to providing the highest quality service measurable results that quantify its success in meeting client needs.

Founded five years ago by Detroit PR veteran Jeff Caponigro, Caponigro Public Relations was initially known for its work in crisis communications, a reputation reinforced by Caponigro’s book The Crisis Counselor, which became one of the seminal texts on the subject. But as the firm has grown it has come to be recognized for a broader expertise in media relations, and for a cadre of senior counselors who can guide clients through a wide variety of communications and business challenges. The big addition in 2004 was John Kolon, one of Michigan’s most respected advertising-agency executives, who joined to form the new Caponigro Marketing Group, bringing a team of eight and a client roster that includes Michigan’s Automation Alley, Baja Fresh, Kowalski food products, and Great Lakes Health Plan.

Other additions to the firm’s roster of accounts include the Henry Ford Health System (one of the Midwest’s largest healthcare providers) and Pulte Homes (one of the nation’s largest home builders), while Masco Corporation provided organic growth.
