Founded in 1994—making it one of the oldest public relations agencies in the Polish market—Ciszewski Public Relations initially offered clients a unique expertise in sports-related programming, drawing on the interest and experience of founder Jerzy Ciszewski (a graduate of the Academy of Physical Education and a former athlete and journalist). Over the past decade and a half, the firm has expanded its capabilities to include a broad range of consumer PR, expertise in the technology sector, and more recently a focus on the financial arena, although it never lost its interest in the sporting world, and in 2007 it launch Ciszewski Marketing Sportowy, a new unit specializing in sports marketing.
Ciszewski continues to serve as owner and president, supported by general director Sebastian Hejnowski, who joined in 2004 and specializes in crisis communications, and Ewa Pater, client service director, who is responsible for the firm’s FMCG work. Last year saw the addition of several new account staff who bring expertise in new technologies and financial communications. And in addition to the launch of its new sports marketing brand, Ciszewski opened two new offices, one in Prague (also specializing in sports) and one in the Virtual World of Second Life (where Ciszewski believes it is the first Polish PR agency with a presence).
Major clients include Carrefour, Legg Mason, New World Alternative Investments, Kompania Piwowarska, Nivea and Allegro, with new additions over the past 12 including Mobilking, Gold Finance, NetMedia, BZWBK, Vattenfall, Bayer, Expo Xxi, and New World Alternative Investments. Highlights of the past 12 months included the Polish introduction to the market of Mobilking, an online mobile phone network operator, targeting young men and organizing the 50th anniversary of the Smurfs in
