Founded three years ago, D’Antona & Partners may be a relative newcomer to the Italian PR market, but founder Rosanna D’Antona is not. Earlier in her career she was co-founder of Mavellia Public Relations (now part of Manning Selvage & Lee’s Italian operations) and later she founded Gruppo D’S.r.l, which was acquired by Edelman, where she went on to serve as general manager of Edelman Italy and CEO of the firm’s European operations. Over the course of a distinguished career she has counselled companies including Dow, Henkel, Nabisco, Solvay Pharmaceuticals and Unilever and probably accumulated as much international PR experience as anyone in Italy.
In her latest role, she also has the support of the Euro RSCG group, one of the top five public relations networks in Europe, and of a strong team of seasoned executives including Maria Manfredini, another Edelman veteran with experiencing counselling brands from SmithKline Beecham and Unilever; Caterina Tonini, former Innova McDonald’s communication manager and youth marketing maven; and new addition Corrado Tomassini, formerly of Pfizer and Edelman and an expert in corporate social responsibility.
So in short order, D’Antona & Partners has fee income of close to €2 million and a client list that includes ABI (Association of Italian Banks), Barilla Group, Pfizer, Compagnie Monegasque de Banque, and Banche Popolari Unite. The firm offers a full range of services, with particular expertise in consumer public relations, corporate reputation management, and crisis communications. Growth in the past 12 months came in the corporate reputation and crisis practices, with client additions including Alessi, CMB, Aventis Sanofi, GTS Group, and French real estate company Altarea Group.
The firm won a European SABRE Award for its work for the Italian Banking Association, now expanded to include a consumer campaign, and also handled corporate reputation building assignment for Pfizer in Italy. It handles several international assignments for clients including Barilla (World Pasta Day in New York and sponsorship activity in France, Spain, and Sweden) and is affiliated with various Euro RSCG agencies in international markets.
