Deekeling Arndt Advisors, founded in 1995 as Deekeling & Fieberg and acquired by Pleon (then ECC) in 1999, regained its independence in early 2006 and immediately established itself as one of the leading strategic communications consultancies in central Europe. With a rich history in the internal and change communications sectors, Deekeling is at its most effective helping clients deal with their most complex communications challenges, working in partnership with clients, providing robust analytical, conceptual and implementation skills and candid counsel. The firm’s service offering includes corporate and public affairs, crisis communications, executive communications, issues management, corporate media relations, corporate branding, internal communications and—new to the mix over the past few months—lobbying and political campaigning.

            Obviously, depth of senior consulting expertise is essential to this model, and Deekeling has a formidable leadership team. Managing partner Egbert Deekeling was managing director at ABC Eurocom before co-founding the firm and is the author of two books on change communications. Partner Olaf Arndt  leads the corporate consulting practice and specializes in crisis situations, while partner Klaus Lintemeier advises companies during mergers and acquisitions and has experience in post-merger integration communications. They are supported by managing directors Dirk Barghop, Pascal Frank (appointed to lead the firm’s Frankfurt office in January of 2006), Tobias Korenke (head of the Berlin office), and Lutz Zimmermann.

            The firm has already seen revenues increase by 20 percent since its buyback from Pleon, and its client list includes 12 members of the DAX 30, including leaders in the financial services and insurance sectors as well as the major players from the energy, logistics and transport industries. Deekeling also works with companies in the telecommunications, trade, pharmaceuticals and chemicals sectors.

“Deekeling Arndt Advisors won the beauty contest and didn’t disappoint us when we needed a communications consultancy for a major integration and branding job after Haniel took over Fels and YTong. For work outside the German-speaking markets, Deekeling partners with an advisor network, including London-based management coach Robert Goodsell (formerly of Smythe Dorward Lambert) and in Austria and Eastern Europe works with Wolfgang Rosam, former head of Publico.
