Effector Communications offers to help its clients “get their stories told.” Initially, when the firm opened its doors in January 2000, most of those stories concerned healthcare and information technology—two areas of particular focus—but as the firm has grown to become one of the most prominent in the Danish market (and expanded with the opening of an office in neighbouring Sweden) it has broadened its client base to include a broader mix of clients and an array of services that includes corporate (including crisis and issues management) and marketing communications and public affairs in Denmark and the EU.

            While Effector is a relatively young firm, its three founding partners—Ole Fredslund, Per Ørum-Hansen, and Elisabeth Tissot Ludvig—are all veterans of the Danish market, having worked at Cohn & Wolfe and Burson-Marsteller before striking out on their own. Hansen died suddenly in the firm’s first year, but Fredslund and Ludvig have continued to grow the firm, strengthening the management team with the addition of chief operating officer Anders Cnattingius (also responsible for the firm’s Swedish office); senior consultant Nadia Vasilev, who specializes in IT and telecommunications; and Erik Bakker Gómez, a new recruit who previously worked as a consultant in European affairs in Brussels, who is responsible for expanding the firm’s public affairs operation.
