NEW YORK—Euro RSCG Magnet has named David Henderson executive vice president and general manager of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Henderson replaces Mike Smith and will report directly to Lisa Sepulveda, CEO, taking responsibility for managing staff and operations and for driving business development in the Washington office.
Henderson is the latest in a series of senior appointments—including Sepulveda and chief marketing officer Laura Sturtz—at Magnet since the arrival of John Margaritis as executive director of Euro RSCG’s worldwide public relations operations in December of 2005.
Henderson, a veteran public relations agency executive and Emmy Award- winning former CBS Network News correspondent, has experience in the aerospace, economic development, entertainment, transportation, IT and telecomm, and travel and tourism sectors. His expertise in strategic communications comprises branding, mergers and re-branding, coalition-building, employee communications, crisis communications, managing public opinion and redefining corporate reputations. He is also a prominent PR industry blogger.
Most recently, Henderson served as Senior Vice President of the National 4-H Council, America’s largest youth development organization. Before that, he was managing partner of Strategic Communications, Inc., and worked with the leadership of BBC News in Washington to enhance the news organization’s relationships at the White House and other D.C. opinion leaders.
Earlier, he was senior vice president at Edelman and vice president of worldwide marketing, advertising and corporate communications at Gulfstream Aerospace.
