Hermanoff & Associates

Holmes Report

There’s not much Sandy Hermanoff hasn’t seen or done during her 25-plus years in the public relations business. After working for a Canadian public relations firm and as public relations director of advertising agency W.B. Doner & Co., she opened her own firm in 1985. She has experience in radio and television; corporate, retail, government, real estate and financial institutions; major fund-raising and political campaigns; and employee communications programs. Add to that experience a reputation as a tell-it-like-it-is no-nonsense counselor, and it’s easy to see why Hermanoff & Associates has carved out a niche for itself as one of Michigan’s best-respected PR firms.
The firm saw growth of around 10 percent in 2002, with crisis management and brand development particularly strong and integrated marketing, community relations, special events, media relations, media training, and business-to business marketing all making a contribution. Having handled McDonald’s in southeast Michigan for 14 years, the firm expanded its work to the entire state in 2002, while coordinating a major birthday party that brought together the restaurant chain, the Mayor of Detroit and the city’s school system. Much of the firm’s other new business came from project clients.
A pleasant work environment—a strong emphasis on ethics, flex-time for all employees, stress relievers such as yoga classes—help attract creative people who make sure Hermanoff’s firm is not just a one-woman band.
