Imre Communications provides integrated brand communications to category leaders in the home and building, financial services and association sectors, three areas in which it has honed its expertise and its relationships over 15 years, building a team of seasoned communications with experience in brand strategy and positioning, marketing, public relations, advertising and (increasingly) digital communications.
That team is led by Dave Imre, company founder and president, who is active in the leadership of the Public Relations Society of America nationally and locally and has taught as an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University and Towson University in Maryland, and Mark Eber, partner and chief operating officer, responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations and the efforts of its vertical industry practices. They are joined by Cathy Austin, partner and executive vice president, who drives client branding efforts and creative strategy; Shawn Draper, a senior VP who was recently named partner and leads the home and building practice, the firm’s largest; Paul Eagle, vice president of the insurance and healthcare practice; and Marci De Vries, VP of digital communications, who joined when Imre acquired her digital marketing company, MDV Communications, in 2007.
Other newcomers in 2007 included Martha Mallonee, VP of the associations practice, and creative director Chris Denney.
Revenues were up by close to 40 percent in 2007, and Imre ended the year with fee income in excess of $8.7 million, driven largely by organic growth among existing clients, including the firm’s new offers: its digital capabilities and a dedicated green marketing team that draws on the firm’s existing expertise in environmental issues. New clients included the National Alliance on Mental Illness, The Endocrine Society, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Benjamin Obdyke, Structural Group, Fiber Composites, Green Builder Media, The Home Depot Gift Cards, The Home Depot Contractor Services, ABC Merit Choice, and CareFirst. The join a roster that includes John Deere, Target, Milwaukee Electric Tools, DAP, Levolor, Travelers, AmWINS, The American Institute of Architects, and CoreNet Global.
Among the firm’s high-profile assignments in 2007 was work supporting the American Institute of Architects’ 150 year anniversary with a yearlong campaign focused on America’s 150 favorite works or architecture, designed to create awareness of the architect’s role in designing better places for people to live and work. Imre launched a national survey that drew thousands of responses, released the results through an aggressive PR campaign and continued to drive excitement through the creation of a viral video campaign, in partnership with GoogleEarth, which drew more than 100,000 YouTube views.
Imre is an affiliate of international public relations agency Manning, Salvage & Lee.
