With close to 90 people and revenues last year of around €5.8 million), Inforpress is probably the largest independent public relations firm on the Iberian Peninsula. Its corporate practice is perhaps the largest, accounting for about 30 percent of external relations revenues, but there are also substantial groups specializing in consumer communications, healthcare, technology, and public affairs, as well as smaller (but rapidly growing) financial and crisis communications units, and growing expertise in corporate social responsibility counselling. The firm has also emerged in recent years as a leader in the realm of employee communications, which accounts for about 20 percent of overall revenues.
Inforpress is a thought leader as well as a market leader. The firm has partnered with top Spanish business schools and trade association on various research products: it worked with the IESE business school and APIE (an association of economic journalists) on a study on the impact of corporate social responsibility on financial communications and on the creation of the Forum for Finance Communication; and it partnered with the magazine Human Capital and the Spanish Company Institute to create the Internal Communications Observatory, which presents awards to leaders in employee communications.
So it’s no surprise that Inforpress is frequently retained to assist clients with their strategic planning as well as with traditional PR, working on planning projects with companies such as Telefonica (creating an internal communications master plan) or Repsol (change communications to 33,000 employees). Other highlights last year include working with Applus on corporate reputation issues and Banc de Sabadell on strengthening local relationships. Other major clients include DKV Seguros, Nutrexpa, United Biscuits, Bayer, Merck, and Novartis.
Inforpress is differentiated from other firms by its “common sense, hardworking spirit and ability to look for the right solutions for every client,” says Montse Martínez, who works in medical communications for Bayer’s consumer health division. Adds Maria Luisa Navas Rodríguez of Telefonica: “In Inforpress we have found a company very flexible and engaged…. In the field of internal
communication they provide an expertise which is difficult to find nowadays in the market, and they join investigation and strategic planning with creativity and effectiveness.”
With offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao, and Lisbon, Inforpress offers comprehensive coverage of Spain and Portugal. On international assignments—for clients such as the California Walnut Board, Solutia and TDK—Inforpress works with its partners in PR Organisation International.
