Full-service public relations

Lift Consulting was created in 2005, one of two public relations and communications firms to emerge from a restructuring of Bairro Alto, a 13-year-old Portuguese communications firm that also included event management and design units. With fees of slightly more than €2 million, it ranks among the top five public relations firms in Portugal, and is certainly among the most honoured, having been named communications consultancy of the year for three consecutive years by the magazine Meios & Publicidade, and having earned more gold and silver Prisma Awards for media relations than any other firm in the market.

Founding partner Salvador da Cunha is a former economic journalist who continues to serve as general manager, offering experience in corporate and financial communications (including mergers and acquisitions and other transactions) and crisis management. Other senior staff include executive managers Cláudia Nogueira, head of marketing and consumer communication and Diogo Madeira, an expert in financial PR and investor relations; and account directors.Catarina Amorim, José Vasconcelos, Paula Ramos, and Ana Teresa Sebastião. Together, they offer broad expertise across several practice areas, including corporate and institutional communication, financial communication, consumer and marketing communication, media relations, media and crisis training, public affairs, and business research.

The firm works for both major multinationals (Microsoft, Fidelity International, Visa, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Ericsson, and GE Money) and Portuguese clients (Grupo Media Capital, Grupo Pestana, Grupo Nutrinveste, Compal, and Oni Telecom). New additional to the client roster over the past 12 months included Toshiba, Ericsson, Campo Real, Puma, Europe Assistance, and GE Money. Major projects included work on the privatization of Portucel and the Media Capital IPO, the acquisition of a stake in Media Capital by Prisa Group and the acquisition of Compal by a private equity company lead by CGD.
