NEW YORK—Michael O'Brien, most recently president of the global consumer practice at Cohn & Wolfe, has been appointed executive vice president and director of New York client service at Ketchum. O'Brien will focus on enhancing and expanding client relations with an emphasis on supporting one of the agency's longest-standing global client relationships, FedEx, among others. He also will help coach and mentor client directors in New York and serve as a member of the New York executive team.
Prior to his most recent role at Cohn & Wolfe, O'Brien served as president of its New York office. He is returning to Ketchum after leaving in August 2004. He had previously headed the brand marketing practice at Ketchum New York, where he led the Kodak, Absolut Spirits and Visa accounts, among others.
O'Brien will report to senior partners Barri Rafferty and Jerry Olszewski.
