LONDON—Waggener Edstrom Worldwide has hired veteran trainer and public relations executive Nicole Utzinger to develop its London-based communications training services. As director of communications training for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Utzinger will expand the training capabilities of the firm, develop a curriculum and deliver communication skills and knowledge to a growing roster of clients.

“Spokesperson training and executive coaching are always on our clients’ wish lists, and Nicole will be a valuable business differentiator for our EMEA organisation,” says Chuck Humble, general manager for EMEA at Waggener Edstrom.

Originally a journalist in Germany, Utzinger stepped into PR early in her career, as an account director for Fleishman-Hillard in Frankfurt, focusing on crisis communications, media training and executive coaching. She then took a post with Ketchum in Munich as vice president, leading the agency’s corporate practice there before moving to London. In 2003 Utzinger moved to Dubai as managing director at Gambate Communications Consultants and later with the Dubai International Financial Centre. Since last year she has been working as an independent consultant in the Middle East.
