BEIJING—WPP has appointed Belinda Rabano as head of corporate communications, Asia Pacific. In a newly created role, Rabano will be responsible for media relations, internal communications, corporate responsibility and other initiatives across the region. Based in Beijing, she will focus special attention on the high-growth markets of China and India.
Her role parallels that of Kevin McCormack in the U.S., and will similarly form part of WPP’s global communications team headed by Feona McEwan in London.
Rabano joins from WPP agency Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific, where she spent more than six years in corporate communications, most recently as Beijing-based corporate communications director for North Asia. Prior to joining Ogilvy in 2001, she spent a decade as a print journalist and editor in Washington, D.C., Singapore and Hong Kong.
